The recent wave of road commissioning in Anambra State by Governor Chukwuma Soludo has excited many of the citizens especially the direct beneficiaries of the projects.
One of those elated is the president of Ogbaru Main Market, otherwise known as Relief Market, Chief Ndubuisi Ochiogu, who declared during his interview with newsmen that he has “always known that Prof. Soludo will perform”.
Ochiogu said immediately after the Governor had commissioned the rehabilitated Obodo-Ukwu Road, a major road in sprawling suburb of Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the State .

He said Soludo had done it before as the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor (CBN), when he led Nigeria to recapitalization of banks to N25b capital base.
The President said that strategic professional decision by Soludo then saved Nigerian banks from collapsing and depositor’s money not going under the drain during the last world economic melt down.
The market leader said it was based on his conviction that Prof Soludo would work for the people of the State that he whole -heartrdly threw himself into his campaign during the last Governorship electioneering, inspite of threat to his life by some hoodlums who were called Unkmown Gun Men (UGM).
Chief Ochiogu said what Prof Soludo would do next year would surpass by many times what he has done so far, lauding the Governor for his road network reconstruction programne which his market has benefitted because according to him they, the traders in the market are number one beneficiaries of the reconstruction of Obodo-Ukwu Road as it provides ease access for the movement of goods into and out of the market.
Stressing that the good road network boost their business activities, Ochiogu said he was elated that the Governor started the road construction efforts among the poor people of the state in Okpoko.
He said the Governor’s opposition who does not want him to go for second tenure had failed in their plots since he would not only make the second tenure but would move on to Abuja as the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He contended that it would be easier for Soludo to become President of Nigeria of Igbo extraction than any other person from the South East.
Turning to those who have been moving around to convince the Governor to remove him, Ochiogu said anybody who wants to head Ogbaru Main Market must prepare for electoral contest, not coming through the back door.
He said stealing and breaking of shops in the market, where criminals carted away several millions of naira belonging to traders has stopped since he came in.
Governor Soludo in the last few weeks has commissioned the dilapidatd Obodo-Ukwu Road, Niger Street road leading from Bridgehead to Onitsha Main Market and Port Harcourt Road.
