I’m proud of you – former president Jonathan tells Governor Ishaku, commissions carriage way, flyover, others in Taraba

A former Nigeria President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has expressed satisfaction on the project executed by Governor Darius Ishaku’s eight years administration in Taraba State, “I am proud of your developmental-oriented project.”

Jonathan who stated this in Jalingo on Friday while commissioning the construction of 22km dual carriageway, flyover and pedestrian bridges among others said Gov. Ishaku has done justice to the collective mandate of the people of Taraba through execution of landmark projects.

He described road infrastructure as key to city centres, pointing out that the dual carriage way will add beauty to Jalingo metropolitan city.

While congratulating the Governor and his team for recording significant developments in the state, the former president reviewed that the present peace in Taraba was responsible for the huge success story of the outgoing administration and encouraged the people of the state to continue to embrace one another.

He recalled that Taraba, which used to be a tense state in the past now most peaceful compared to other states of the federation and expressed gratitude to Gov. Darius and Tarabans for considering him worthy to commission the peoples oriented projects in the state.

Meanwhile, Gov. Darius Ishaku in his earlier remarks thanked former president Jonathan for making the commissioning project a reality by personally accepting their invitation.

Same appreciation Ishaku said, equally goes to his Deputy Engr. Haruna Manu, his executives, and the contractors to ensure that the project was completed at record time.

According to him, the project was awarded on December, 2019 for a period of 18 months, pointing out that his administration has delivered quality projects that can stand the test of time.

Apart from 22km dual carriage way, pedestrian walkways, bridges and the flyover, the Governor noted with satisfaction that during the period under review, his administration has completed many rural roads at hinter lands across board, noting that the opening and construction of more roads has drastically reduced the rates of accidents in the state.

He thanked the people of the state for supportive as well as delivering PDP and its Governor-elect Agbu Kefas in the just concluded 2023 general election.
