The Supreme Court of Nigeria has fixed Friday May 26th for judgment in a suit seeking the disqualification of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice president-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima Mustapha.
The suit was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through their counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN) alleging that Kashim Shettima had double nomination as senatorial candidate and later presidential running mate under the All Progressives Congress, (APC).
PDP wants the Supreme Court to upturn the verdict of the Court of Appeal which dismissed the appeal on the grounds of locus standi.
The PDP wants the apex court to hear the matter on its merit and determine the grounds set out for the suit.
However, plans are ready for the inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29th.
