India-West Africa business summit holds in Abuja Monday

Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr B.N. Reddy delivers his speech at the press conference
The Indian High Commission to Nigeria will hold the first India – West Africa business conclave in Abuja between October 8 and 9 2018.
The Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria Mr. B. N Reddy disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja Friday.
According to him, the event is organised by Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and EXIM Bank of India.
He said the choice of Nigeria was because it is the largest economy in the region, also hosts the headquarters of ECOWAS Commission.
The envoy pointed out that the focus of the event will include agriculture and food processing, finance, infrastructure and transport, manufacturing, power and renewable energy, information technology, education and healthcare.
He also disclosed that India ministers of Commerce and Industry and External Affairs would be leading 70-member business delegation to participate and address the conclave.
Reddy explained that over 200 delegates and 70 business representatives from India including 20 captains of leading Indian industries are expected to participate at the event.
The regional director of Confederation of Indian Industries, Mr E. B. Rajesh said 119 companies that have registered for the business conclave with 65 percent Nigerian.
