Indigenous firm renovates Federal varsity, Gashua VC’s office

A Gashua-based indigenous firm, Hub Gashua Investment Company, has renovated the office of the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Gashua in Yobe State as part of its social responsibility to the community where it is operating.
This was contained in a release signed and made available to Journalists in Gombe by the Head of Information and Protocol of FUG, Adamu Saleh, stating that the gesture worth millions of Naira, has drawn commendation from all the management officers of the University.
Adamu Saleh further stated that, the renovation took place immediately after the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Maimuna Waziri, took the mantle of leadership in the School, thus, coming as s surprise to her.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HUB Gash Investment Company, Kaka Bulama, said that the issue came up during a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor to congratulate her on her recent appointment as the third VC of the University.
Kaka Bulama added that, “The company has been in partnership with the University for a long time, so, we felt, as part of our social responsibility, renovate two offices and board room of the University.”
While Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Maimuna Waziri, said that she was overwhelmed by the company’s gesture and could not hide her joy when she heard that the renovation of her office was done voluntarily by a local company.
She also said that, “I am overwhelmed by this gesture,” and assured the company that the University under her leadership will ensure the consolidation of the existing partnership between the school and HUB GASH investment company because of the company’s interest in the development of the university.
Acting Registrar of FUG, Dr. AB Shehu, thanked the company management for the gesture to the institution and enjoined them to continue with the good work for better partnership.
