The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Nasarawa state, Engr. Joseph Ewuga has kicked against the governorship results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) saying democracy is being murdered in the state.

Speaking to Journalists in Lafia, Ewuga rejected the results in totality.
Ewuga had two weeks to last Saturday’s election stepped down and collapse his structures for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate David Ombugadu.

Ewuga said “Nasarawa is not a Banana Republic where the rights of the people will be thrown to the gutters and their votes will not count. We will not allow this impunity and rascality to stand.

“The exercise was marred with violence and complete voter disenfranchisement,” he said.

He said Labour Party in the state will join forces with the PDP to reclaim the mandate of the people.

Ewuga who described the election as “daylight robbery” also said him and the PDP candidate are still consulting with several other stakeholders to come out with an action of reclaiming the mandate of the people.

He said the All Progressives Congress candidates, Abdulahi Sule suppressed and intimidated the voters.

Ewuga said that in Lafia Local Government Area, the APC candidate and INEC compromised the process.

He said that the PDP candidate won the lawful votes cast but the APC candidate in the company of INEC and the security agents rewrote results.

He appreciated the people of the state for voting en mass for the PDP candidate and urged them to remain calm and wait for next line of action.
