As women across the world celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Taraba State, Hon. Danladi Baido said women would be given their rightful of place in his administration.
He said with the role women play in the society, they are not fully given a pride of place for their commitments.
The remark was contained in a statement on Wednesday by Anthony Maliki, Special Assistant on Media to Hon. Danladi Baido.
According to him, women are great contributors to the society in terms providing guidance and economy development yet are not carried along in the scheme of things.
Also, he pointed out that if elected Governor of Taraba State, he would surely uplift the present level of women by providing an enabling environment for them to strive.
The SDP governorship candidate also spoke on the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day: “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality.”
In this regard, he said one of his manifestos is to establish Information Communication Technology (ICT) centres in each local government area where women and youths to be gainfully engaged and self-reliant.
In her remarks, the wife of the governorship candidate, Mrs. Mbantira Baido congratulated women on the International Women’s Day urging them to use their huge number to vote for SDP in the March 11, 2023 election.
She pointed out that the SDP has better development package than any other party for swomen in Taraba State.
