Intervention: Bauchi health ministry commends USAID/IHP, seeks more collaboration

Bauchi State Ministry of Health has commended the USAID funded Integrated Health Program (USAID IHP) under which various interventions have been implemented to improve healthcare delivery services in the state. 
The commendation was made by the Commissioner of Health, Dr Sumaila Dahuwa Kaila during 2021 last quarter review meeting held at Riveredge Resort, Bauchi on Tuesday saying that the USAID/IHP interventions over the years have really made health management easy for the state government. 
Represented by the Director, Public Health of the Ministry, Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri the Commissioner assured that the Ministry will continue to partner health related donor agencies in the area of improving the health sector which he said is one of the cardinals focus of the administration. 
He further said that, improving primary healthcare services is key to the development of the health sector stressing that USAID/IHP has done tremendously well in that area through its numerous interventions thereby making healthcare services more accessible to the people particularly those at the rural areas. 
Sumaila Dahuwa then requested for more collaboration with the USAID/IHP in other areas that have not been touched disclosing that the Ministry is ever ready to play any role expected of it in the collaboration. 
Earlier, State Director of IHP, Dr Siaka Alhassan said that the meeting was aimed at reviewing what had been done in the last 3 months when the last review was held in order to see where the program is lagging behind to be able to make necessary adjustments to achieve the set objectives. 
Siaka Alhassan added that USAID/IHP is committed to interventions that on improving the quality of Healthcare coverage in the state because according to him the IHP which is funded by USAID is working to improve quality of Healthcare services delivery in the state.
