The Liberal Jewish Synagogue, London, and a delegation of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star (BCS) from Calabar, Nigeria, have met in London to explore interfaith initiatives aimed at promoting global peace and contributing to efforts toward resolving the protracted Israel–Palestine conflict.

The interface, held at the synagogue’s John’s Wood Road headquarters, brought together senior representatives of both religious bodies.

The BCS delegation was led by Head of Evangelism, PCS Prof. David Irefin, alongside PCS Gabriel Edum, HE Rose Ubah, HE Amie Kamara, HG Earl Holder and Brother Justice Osai Ahiakwo.

During the engagement, both sides discussed frameworks for deeper cooperation, with emphasis on joint initiatives that foster dialogue, understanding, and conflict-mitigation around the Middle East crisis.

Officials told journalists that the meeting was a significant step in strengthening interreligious communication at a time of heightened global tension.

The delegation was formally received by the presiding Rabbi, who hosted the session with support from the BCS UK Deputy Administrator, Dr Mitchel Eboigbe.

The visitors were also ushered into the synagogue to observe a prayer service, reflecting what both sides described as a shared commitment to spiritual harmony and mutual respect.

After the service, the groups held a structured dialogue session with synagogue representatives, exploring potential areas of sustained partnership.

The visit, which concluded with a communal supper symbolizing goodwill, formed part of the BCS Mission’s broader efforts to deepen interfaith relations and promote dialogue-driven peacebuilding. The engagement was completed on 14 November 2025.
