The Jigawa State Internal Revenue Service (JIRS) has organized a program to raise awareness among tax collectors in the state. The event, led by Chairman Nasir Sabo Idris, aimed to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of tax revenue collection in Jigawa State.

During the program, Chairman Idris launched a new digital platform for tax payment and monitoring, making it easier for individuals to pay taxes. The platform features a self-assessment tool, allowing taxpayers to input their tax owed and automatically calculate the percentage to be paid.

The initiative aligns with Governor Umar A. Namadi’s agenda to advance the state’s digital infrastructure. Chairman Idris urged tax collectors to exercise patience and honesty, reporting any taxpayer misconduct to management for prompt action.

The Board Secretary thanked members for their cooperation and announced that similar programs would be conducted twice a month. This initiative is part of JIRS’ efforts to improve tax revenue collection and enhance the state’s digital infrastructure.
