Justice Ashi, prosecuting Diezani for money laundering, dies

A High Court judge of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), sitting at the Apo Division, Justice Valentine B. Ashi, has died.
Reports reaching Apex News on Friday night indicated the judge died on Thursday at a hospital in Abuja where she was being diagnosed for an undisclosed ailment.
In December 2018, the judge ordered security agencies to arrest and produce a former Petroleum Resources Minister, Diezani Alison Madueke, accused of money laundering in billions of foreign currency. Diezani has not being arrested.
According to the official web site of FCT High Court, Late Justice Ashi hailed from Obudu Local Government t Area of Cross River State and was called to Bar in 1987 and completed his National Youth Service the following year.
He was in active law practice for sometimes and became a Lecturer at the Nigerian Law School in 2001 where he remained until his appointed as a Judge in the FCT High Court, Abuja in 2010.
