Governor Nasir Ahmed El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State has been urged to keep faith with the promise he made to Bajju people of approving a popular candidate to occupy the traditional seat of Agwam Kajju after the demise of Mallam Nuhu Bature, the First Agwam.

A prominent elder of Kajju land and former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr Kure Mallam made the plea during a press briefing at Zonkwa, headquarters of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Kure, who spoke on behalf of Banyet -Ahuwan clan in the Kajju chiefdom, wondered how the Governor suddenly changed his decision and appointed a very unpopular candidate, Mr Luka Kogi to the throne of the Kajju chiefdom.

He said the appointment of Mr Kogi as Agwam Kajju by the Governor has been greeted with feelings of resentment in the chiefdom due to his unpopularity.

Kure Mallam then appealed to Governor El-Rufa’i to rescind his decision and approve the appointment of Mr Joseph Habila Jatau as Agwam Kajju, who is quite popular and widely accepted across the length and breath of the Kajju chiefdom due to his track record of achievements and also called for the upgrade of the status to the first class as it was known before.
