Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has commended the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN), Alhaji Bashir Idris, for what he described as exemplary service that brought pride to the state and justified his reappointment.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, gave the commendation during a grand reception organised in honour of the Registrar by the Jama’a Emirate Council at the Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan.
He praised Alhaji Bashir for his leadership in strengthening primary healthcare delivery and regulatory efficiency across the country, urging him to sustain the momentum in his second term. The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to bringing development to all parts of Kaduna State.
Chairman of the occasion, Professor Yaki Katuka, applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani for promoting inclusivity and merit in appointments, saying recent developments have given Southern Kaduna a stronger sense of belonging. He urged political appointees to serve the broader society beyond their immediate circles.
In his response, Alhaji Bashir Idris expressed gratitude to the Emir of Jama’a, the state government, health professionals, and other stakeholders for their support. He pledged to remain committed to public service, emphasizing that the honour was a reflection of collective effort in improving community health.
“I am deeply humbled by this gesture and see it as a renewed call to service. I will continue to serve with integrity and dedication,” he said.
Also speaking, the Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammad Isa Muhammad (CON), described Bashir Idris as a trailblazer in public health and a worthy ambassador of the Emirate. He said the event was not just a celebration of personal achievement but a reaffirmation of the vital role of community health practitioners in national development.
The event attracted dignitaries from across the country, including state government officials, legislators, traditional rulers, and members of the CHPRBN board.
