Kaduna LG poll: Jema’a PDP candidate promises people oriented projects

Hon. Peter Danjuma Averik, chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Jema’a in Saturday’s local government elections in Kaduna State has promised people oriented projects if elected.
Averik, who is seeking re-election for a second term in office, made the pledge on Thursday at a campaign rally in all the 12 wards of Jema’a Local Government.
The immediate past chairman of the council pledged to consolidate on the developmental strides recorded during his first term if re-elected.
“If given the mandate to lead this great council for a second term, we promise to build on the gains recorded in our first term.
“We will continue where we stopped by initiating and executing more of projects that would have a direct bearing on the vast majority of our people,” he added
He also promised to be responsive to the needs of the people, noting that governance was about putting the interest of the people first
The former Chairman listed some of the projects he executed including; construction of 3 units of Police outposts in Ungwan Baki, Kyayya and Kogum. Construction of 2 clinics in Kwarabe, and Kussom. Extension of electrification of Jagindi Tasha to Kogum, in addition to the renovation of two blocks of classrooms in Ambam and Ungwan Madaki Primary Schools among other developmental projects.
In his remarks, Shehu Garba, member representing Jema’a/Sanga constituency at the National Assembly said the PDP was the party to beat in the election given its proven track record in the area.
Garba called on the electoral umpire to work towards ensuring that the collective will of the people was not subverted at the poll.
Also speaking, Ali Kalat, member representing Jema’a constituency at the State Assembly stated that a vote for the PDP on Saturday is a vote for a more prosperous future for the people.
Kalat called on the people to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner on election day as the PDP was a party of peace.
