A second-term councilor representing Karu ward in Karu Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, Hon. Simon Bwaje Iyakwari has promised to take dividend of democracy to the grassroots.
Iyakwari stated this while speaking to Apex News Exclusive shortly after plenary, recently. Describing election that brought him to power for the second term as free, fair and credible, Iyakwari said he won’t take the mandate of the people for granted.
Hon. Iyakwari maintained that, his re-election for the second term was due to good works, the people saw in his representation during the first tenure, adding that it was to ensure continuity of goodworks.
He restated that, his focus in the last tenure shall be to extend the dividend of democracy to his people at the grassroots through several means of empowerment.
Speaking further, he again appreciates God for the autonomy signed by President Muhammadu Buhari and His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, who has given free hand to local government councils in the state to operate freely under the autonomy. “I want to believe that, the executive chairman of this council will take tone with His excellency and his policies to see that, dividend of democracy reach out to our people’’. He said.
Hon Iyakwari explained that grassroots development will be done through effective representative of the people, through empowerment and provision of social amenities to give the governed a sense.
He appreciated God for giving him privilege to serve his people for the second term.
