Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has congratulated veteran journalist and publisher, Danlami Nmodu, mni, on his election and inauguration as the new President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).

Governor Radda described Mr. Nmodu emergence as a well-deserved recognition of his dedication to the journalism profession and his remarkable contributions to the growth, credibility, and ethical standards of the Nigerian media.

This was contained in a statement to Apex News Exclusive by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

He expressed confidence that Mr. Nmodu leadership will further enhance the Guild’s role in promoting responsible and fact-based online journalism across the country.

Nmodu, a respected media professional and publisher, was inaugurated as GOCOP President recently following a keenly contested election in which he secured 63 out of 71 votes cast.

The presidency was the only contested position, while other executive members were returned unopposed.

Governor Radda also commended the outgoing President, Dr. Maureen Chigbo, for her selfless service and outstanding contributions to the Guild’s growth during her tenure.

He expressed optimism that the new leadership under Mr. Nmodu will consolidate these gains by fostering innovation, unity, and professional excellence within Nigeria’s online media landscape.

The Governor urged Mr. Nmodu and his executive team to continue upholding the values of integrity, accuracy, and fairness in their reportage, while strengthening collaboration between the media and public institutions to promote good governance and national development.

“On behalf of the Government and the good people of Katsina State, I congratulate Mr. Danlami Nmodu, mni, on his election and inauguration as President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers,” Governor Radda stated. “His victory reflects the trust and confidence reposed in him by his colleagues, and we are confident that his leadership will inspire credibility, innovation, and unity in Nigeria’s online media community.”

Governor Radda wished Mr. Nmodu and the newly inaugurated executive council a successful tenure and assured them of his administration’s continued support for efforts that promote credible and professional journalism for national progress.
