Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has extended warm congratulations to His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, CON, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, on the occasion of his 58th birthday today.
Governor Radda described Governor Buni as an accomplished, steadfast, and visionary public servant whose rise through the political ranks reflects decades of dedication, humility, and commitment to nation-building.
He noted that Governor Buni journey, from his early days as a councilor in Gujba Local Government in 1992 to becoming Speaker of the council, a Senior Legislative Assistant in the National Assembly, and later a key figure in the formation and growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC), remains a remarkable story of resilience and service.
He highlighted Governor Buni influential roles as Chairman of the Advanced Congress of Democrats in Yobe State, pioneer State Chairman of the APC after the historic 2013 merger, and later as the first elected National Secretary of the APC, where he contributed significantly to the success of the party and the emergence of the administration of late President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
Governor Radda also commended Governor Buni leadership as Chairman of the APC Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, where he played a stabilising role during a critical period in the party’s history.
He further praised Governor Buni achievements since assuming office in 2019 as the fourth Executive Governor of Yobe State, acknowledging his efforts in strengthening education, healthcare, agriculture, and infrastructure, as well as his people-focused governance that continues to uplift communities across the state.
He described him as a unifier, a calm reformer, and a leader whose maturity, inclusiveness, and sense of duty remain widely admired.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Katsina State, Governor Radda extended his warm congratulations to Governor Mai Mala Buni, praying that God blesses him with long life, good health, and the wisdom to continue delivering impactful leadership to the people of Yobe State and Nigeria at large.”
He prayed that Almighty Allah grants Governor Buni greater wisdom and continued success as he advances the development of Yobe State and contributes to national unity and progress.
He wished Governor Buni a fulfilling and peaceful birthday celebration in the company of family, friends, and well-wishers.
