Katsina signs MoU on Universal Health Coverage, restates commitment to revitalise 361 PHCs across state

Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has taken a step forward toward achieving Universal Health Coverage for Katsina State residents by signing a Memorandum of Understanding with EHA Clinics.
The official signing of partnership which took place in Abuja aims to ensure access to quality and efficient health services without financial hardship for all citizens of Katsina State.
Governor Radda restates his administration commitment to having one functional PHC per ward strategy and assure all development partners in the state of continued support and collaboration as well as providing an enabling environment for developmental projects.
The collaboration is an advancement in the state’s healthcare infrastructure development plan, which targets establishing one functional primary healthcare centers across all 361 wards in Katsina State.
Abdulkareem Iyamu, VP of Business Development at EHA Clinics, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership’s potential impact.
“We’re proud to enter into a Public-Private Partnership with the Katsina State Government to build a more inclusive and resilient healthcare system. Through this collaboration, we will not only digitize care processes but also use advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to improve health outcomes, reduce costs, and bring lifesaving services closer to the people who need them most, which aligns with His Excellency’s vision,” Iyamu explained.
The State Honourable Commissioner of Health, Musa Adamu Funtua, also explained the administration’s track record in the healthcare sector.
“The administration of Governor Radda has prioritized Healthcare Delivery as evidenced by recording many ground breaking achievements in less than two years of the administration,” Commissioner Funtua noted.
Barrister Maryam Sodangi, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals, emphasized the strategic importance of the MoU in strengthening Healthcare delivery especially at the PHC level.
This partnership represents another milestone in Governor Radda’s comprehensive healthcare transformation agenda for Katsina State, focusing particularly on strengthening primary healthcare delivery systems.
