Kauran Namoda-Birnin Magaji-Dauran road to be completed soon—official

The ongoing construction work of Kauran Namoda-Birnin Magaji-Dauran road in Zamfara has reached 98 per cent completion stage, an official has disclosed.
The state Commissioner for Budget and Economic lanning, Alhaji Ibrahim Birnin Magaji disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Friday.
“The people of the area have been craving for a road to be constructed for the past 40 or so years but was not done until now when the present administration of Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari came in.
He said the state government attached great importance to the road in view of its economic importance to the people of the area, hence its decision to invite President Buhari to Commission the project.
“The road will soon be commissioned as the State Government has invited President Muhammadu Buhari to come and commission the road,” Birnin Magaji said.
He said the road when completed would improve socio-economic activities of the benefitting communities as it would link three local government areas to the state capital, Gusau as well as the neighbouring Katsina state.
The Commissioner said the state government had spent over N700 million on the rehabilitation of Birnin Magaji General Hospital in addition to providing safe drinking water to towns and villages around the area.
NAN reports that the Commissioner was in Kano to attend the workshop on strengthening states capacity in ensuring sustainability of results for Children through social policy..
The workshop was organised by Unicef in collaboration with the Ministry of Budget and National Planning for Northern state Commissioners of Budget and Planning and Women Affairs
Birnin Magaji said the state government had also construction 20 kilometer township roads in all the 14 Local Government Areas and other major towns across the state.
“Despite the fact that we are facing a lot of challenges cash crunch inclusive, the state governor under the leadership of Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari has been doing very well in terms of infrastructural development.
“Anybody who has been in Zamfara from May 2011 to date will attest to this claim because even in my village we have been craving for a road to be constructed over the last 40 years but was not done until now.
He called on the people of the state to continue to support the administration of Gov. Abdul’aziz Yari and President Muhammadu Buhari to enable them provide much needed dividends of democracy in the state and the country at large. (NAN)
