Kebbi Government presents N643b budget to state Assembly for consideration

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has on Thursday in Birnin Kebbi presented to the State Assembly the 2026 Appropriation Bill of about N643 Billion for deliberation and approval.
75% of the budget amounting to N479.3 billion tagged Budget of Transformation and Peoples Empowerment, is devoted to capital expenditure, while recurrent spending will consume about N164 billion representing 25%.
Governor Idris informed the House that, the government had made agriculture the backbone of economic growth through agricultural industrialization.
”Economic reforms will be deepened to strengthen the ease of doing business in our dear state
”The administration has also launched Security Trust Fund with a take off grant of N3 billion to support rapid response to security situation in all nooks and crannies of Kebbi.
”The budget is premised on commitment to long term development while sustaining financial stability.
”The government is equally committed to equitable development and improvement of the quality of life of our people”, Idris said.
The Governor thanked the Speaker and other Legislators for their support and constructive engagement which made it possible for the administration to achieve the successes recorded.
Receiving the Appropriation Bill, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, gave an assurance that the Assembly would carefully and speedily scrutinise the budget for passage.
”Your Excellency, latest by next week, the House will approve the Appropriation Bill for continuity in the services of Kebbi people.
”We shall maintain cordial, respectful and collaborative relationship with the Executive Arm towards the prosperity of Kebbi”, the Speaker assured.
