Kebbi Government signs N3.8b Yauri township roads contract

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has approved the construction of four roads in Yauri town as a deliberate policy to upgrade the city to fulfill his electioneering campaign promises.

The contract awarded to a Chinese Firm, Zhounghou Nig Ltd was signed by the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engineer Abdullahi Umar Farouk, at a brief ceremony in Birnin Kebbi.

The roads to be affected were Local Government-Dawanau Junction, Market Rounabout-Tashar Garkuwa, Garkar Dudu- Liberia Junction and Police Station-Union Bank with the four Kilometre roads expected to be completed in eighteen months.

According to the Commissioner, the project should include complete scarification of existing carriage ways, Construction of drains and culverts, Provision of sub base and base courses, Provision of MC1 and Asphalt overlay, Shoulder surface dressing as well as desilting of existing drains in the town.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the support Governor Idris has been giving to them especially now that they were shouldered with the responsibilities of supervising the project.
