Kebbi State Governor Comrade Nasir Idris has praised the APC leadership and members for conducting peaceful ward and local government congresses.
The congresses were earlier conducted at the 225 wards and later at the 21 local government levels in the state where executive committee members of the two levels were elected through a transparent process of consensus, affirmation or elections as contained in the the guidelines enshrined in the party’s constitution.

This was contained in a statement by Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to Kebbi State Governor.
He noted that minor misunderstandings during the process were normal in democracy, especially in a party that politicians of substance in the country want to be part of in view of its national acceptability.
The Governor further stressed that the continuous defection of the membership and leadership of the opposition political parties including state governors, National and State Assemblies members as well as the remnants of some politicians of substance to the All Progressive Congress (APC) was a clear testimony of the People’s confidence in the party.
The Governor attributed the success to President Bola Tinubu’s purposeful leadership and the APC-controlled state governors’ commitment to improving Nigerians’ socio-economic fortunes. He thanked party stakeholders, including National and State Assembly members, for their enthusiasm which led to the successful conduct of the state in the state.
Governor Idris urged aggrieved members to prioritize party unity and success over personal interests. He congratulated elected leaders, urging them to ensure fairness and justice, and wished them Allah’s guidance.
The state congress, where state leadership will be elected, is scheduled for March 3, 2026.
