Kebbi Governor Idris congratulates General Musa, confidence of his capacity

Comrade Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has congratulated General Christopher Musa on his appointment as Nigeria’s new Minister of Defence, expressing confidence in his professional capacity and patriotism to address the country’s security challenges.
In a congratulatory message, Governor Idris cited General Musa’s quality of professional training, years of practical experience, and demonstrated commitment to ensuring peace and sustainable democratic governance in Nigeria as reasons for his confidence.

This was contained in a statement by Abdullahi Idris Sadaukin Zuru, Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy to Kebbi State Governor.
The Governor specifically highlighted General Musa’s efforts in preventing armed bandits from establishing bases in Kebbi State and his sustained moral support for security agencies in the state.
Comrade Idris expressed with the impactful advice and support that encouraged his administration to sustained it’s logistics and financial complementary support to the security agencies towards successful operations against armed banditry in Kebbi State.
He also prayed for God’s guidance and divine intervention in General Musa’s new role and appealed to President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly to provide adequate support and encouragement.
He further expressed the preparedness of the government and people of Kebbi State in sustaining the regular prayers for his success and possibly eventual victory over the bandits.
General Musa, a retired Nigerian army general, served as the 18th Chief of Defence Staff from June 2023 to October 2025 and is a recipient of the Colin Powell Award for Soldiering in 2012. His nomination as Minister of Defence was confirmed by the Senate on December 3, 2025 .
