Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State presenting the 2024 budget to the state House of Assembly

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has on Wednesday presented the 2024 appropriation bill tagged “Infrastructural development and human empowerment budget” to the State House of Assembly for consideration.
The budget presentation of over N250.1billion which was the maiden activity at the State Assembly had N159.4b as capital expenditure while N90.6b was earmarked for recurrent expenditure as against last year’s total budget of about N157b.
The budget according to the governor if passed into law would be used to finance infrastructure, agricultural, education, security, commerce and industry for the overall development of the state.
He further stated that proposed revenues as well as statutory allocation coming from the federation account were estimated in the sum of over N79.2b while the internally generated revenues were put at over N18.3b .
Responding, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mohammed Usman Ankwai, assured a speedy passage of the budget.
