Kebbi Governor, Idris tasks judiciary on need to decongest correctional centres

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has charged the Acting Chief Judge Justice Umar Abubakar to cut short his vacation and embark on prison visit to decongest the correctional centres in the state.
The Governor made this known Saturday in Birnin Kebbi at the swearing-in ceremony of Acting Grand Khadi Sadik Umar Moukhtar at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi.
While assuring a better welfare package to the judiciary Governor Idris said decongesting the prisons would create an enabling environment that will ensure better reformation of inmates.
Speaking about the new Acting Grand Khadi, the Governor said his appointment was based on his enviable track record of judicial service and challenge him to justify the confidence repose in you by maintaining the rule of law while discharging his duties.
Governor Idris called on the judicial staff to give necessary support to his Administration in order to take the state to higher heights of development.
