Kebbi Police Command intercept N600m worth of illicit drugs

The Kebbi State Police Command has intercepted Cannabis Sativa also known as Indian Hemp worth over N600m as well as 7,500 live cartrages at Tsamiya Maje, near Nigeria-Benin Republic border in Bagudo Local Government area of the state.
Parading the suspects at the Command’s Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, the Image Maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar, said officers of the Border Drill while on Patrol intercepted the two trucks loaded with 4,927 and 4,906 Cannabis Sativa consignments with 7,500 live cartrages.
The suspects arrested were Shola Adeyemi from Akure Ondo state, Rasak Agbola from Oyo state, Emmanuel Chukuma from Abia state and Kanta Bisa from Ghana
While responding to questions from newsmen, the suspects and the truck driver, Kanta Bisa and Shola Adeyemi said they loaded the consignments from Ghana and Benin Republic respectively to Lagos
They said they had passed eight security check points from the border before they were intercepted at Tsamiya Maje.
Superintendent of Police Nafiu Abubakar said investigation was ongoing as some of the suspects were at large.
