Kebbi Police Command to sustain community policing in fight against crimes

Kebbi State Police Command has identified Community Policing as veritable tool in the fight against crimes and criminality in the society because provision of sustainable security is everybody’s business

The Police Commissioner, Chris Aimiono Wane, stated this while receiving a voluntary organization, Tsaro da Tarbiya Multipurpose Corporation Society, from Jega at the Police Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi.
He said voluntary community organizations had been playing a vital role in identifying criminals, criminal spots and hideouts as well as persons abetting the crimes and reporting same to the Police for prompt action.

While urging the organization to operate within the ambit of the law CP Wane thanked the members for donating a vehicle to Jega Police Division saying it would go a long way in improving security in Jega town and environs.

Speaking earlier, Chairman, Jega Local Government Council, Murtala Habib Jega said they were in the office to show profound gratitude to the police for supporting their activities in the area, adding that they will sustain the tempo.

Jega said it was in realisation of the fact that government and the police alone could not provide security to everybody the organization was formed to complement security agencies efforts.
