Kebbi Police rescue 36 kidnapped victims in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area

Kebbi State Police Command says about thirty six people were rescued from kidnappers along Mairairai- Bena road in Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area after a gun battle between security personnel and the culprits.

In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Galatians Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar and made available to Newsmen in Birnin Kebbi stated that the culprits in large numbers barricaded the said road and kidnapped the victims while returning home from their respective farms.

“On receipt of the report, a combined team of the Police, Army and vigilante swiftly mobilized to the scene and engaged the bandits in a gun duel, overpowering and forcing the kidnappers to escape into the nearby forest with gunshot wounds”, the statement further explained.

In view of the above tremendous achievement recorded by the operatives, according to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Bello M. Sani commended their bravery and professionalism and urged them to be more committed in making Kebbi State a difficult place for criminals.

The CP equally charged the Police and other security agencies operating in the area to intensify synergy amongst them with a view to decisively dealing with the bandits and other unscrupulous elements.
