In its continued quest to improve the lives of underserved communities, the Khalid Community Initiative (KCI) has taken proactive steps to establish a strategic partnership with the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN).

The meeting, held at the ECN headquarters, featured high-level discussions between KCI’s Founder, Honorable Khalid Garba Barau Ningi (Dujiman Ari), and the Director General/CEO of the Energy Commission, Dr. Abdullahi Mustapha, on energy-driven solutions to challenges faced by communities in Ningi Local Government Area and beyond.

Dr. Mustapha expressed the commission’s commitment to fostering development in rural areas and outlined key initiatives tailored to address energy needs. Among these are the Mini-Grid Solar Power Project, Solar Streetlights, and Solar-Powered Boreholes, all of which are aimed at providing sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions. “The Energy Commission remains dedicated to ensuring that transformative projects are deployed to impact lives positively,” Dr. Mustapha assured.

Honorable Ningi, known for his dedication to community development, emphasized the pressing need for these projects.

“Our foundation, KCI, is deeply committed to supporting less-privileged individuals and communities by addressing their most critical challenges. Energy access is pivotal in this effort, and this partnership signifies a major step forward,” he stated.

He further highlighted KCI’s track record of impactful initiatives, including the donation of free pregnancy kits, scholarships for students, and free medical treatments for various ailments.

“Our vision is to reshape lives by tackling the barriers that hinder progress, and we are honored to partner with the Energy Commission to expand these efforts,” Hon. Khalid added.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge to deepen collaboration, ensuring the seamless execution of the proposed projects. Both parties expressed optimism that their collective efforts would transform lives and catalyze sustainable development in the region.
