Kogi governorship hopeful, Sani Lulu

A frontline governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 2019 election in Kogi State, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has strongly pledged to harness the abundant human and natural resources of the state for the betterment of the people.
He also promised to use the resources to make the state one of the most prosperous in the country.
He was speaking at various APC stakeholders’ meeting in the state and national levels in the course of his consultations.
In a statement emailed to Apex News Tuesday by his media aide, Sylvester Ojogbane, Alhaji Abdullahi said he will run an “open, transparent and accountable administration” where the resources of the state will be effectively utilized for the overall benefit of the state.
He expressed regret that despite the abundant human and natural resources of the state, Kogi remains one of the most backward states in the country.
Alhaji Lulu who was president of the Nigeria Football Federation, (NFF), from 2006-2010,  promised to apply the APC manifesto as well as his experience in public administration for  the overall development of the state if given the opportunity to govern the Confluence State. Towards achieving this, he said, he will reengineer the financial system with a view to solving current financial crisis, especially the payment of workers’ salaries.
He also promised to overhaul the Civil Service and to give workers welfare the required attention and priority.
In his May Day message to workers in the state, Alhaji Abdullahi assured them of his desire to “reshape and reposition the Civil Service with the introduction of genuine reform that will include training and retraining of staff and non-interference in the management of local council funds.”
Apart from promising to pay the N30, 000 minimum wage recently approved for workers in the country, the APC governorship aspirant pledged to also address the lingering issues of backlog pensions and gratuities of retired civil servants.
