The Speaker of Kokona Local Government Area Legislative Council in Nasarawa State, Rt. Hon. Abu Akuki Philemon has praised the State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for ensuring peace and order in all parts of the state.
He acknowledged that since assumption of office over two years ago, there has been no crisis in the state.
Hon. Philemon told Apex News Exclusive in an interview at Garaku, the local government headquarters that without peace there wouldn’t be development.
According to him, Governor Sule is somebody who has a listening ear, cares for the people and wants to make sure that everyone in the state is living in peace.
He pointed out that the Governor has been fulfilling his campaign promises and had ensured the provision of health outreach in Kokona few weeks ago under the Health Insurance Scheme where free operations were conducted on about 60 persons and other tests and medication given to about 1500 others.
On the local government, Hon. Philemon noted that issues concerning security is taken seriously saying in a situation whereby there is no security guaranteed in a place, growth and development will become a problem.
Speaking on the relationship between the legislature and the Executive arm, the Speaker explained that it has been cordial as the Chairman, Hon. Awalu Adamu has been very open to them on various issues.
“The chairman is somebody that if there is anything that will bring confusion, he quickly comes in so that such a thing would be addressed. And if really, we need development, the two arms must come together,” Hon. Philemon stressed.
