Kwara condemns rape, gender violence

The Kwara State Government has taken serious exception to rape cases, which is presently ravaging Nigeria pledging to do everything legally possible to put a permanent stop to it and bring the evil parpetrators to book.
The state Commissioner for Communications, Alhaji Muritala Olanrewaju said this in Ilorin Wednesday when members of Human Rights Commission paid him a courtesy visit.
Alhaji Olanrewaju assured the visiting team of his ministry’s assistance and promised the production of jingles against rape and violence against women.
Earlier, the Kwara State Coordinator of the Human Rights Commission, Mrs Jumoke Olaoye lamented the rate at which women are being violated nationwide.
Olaoye who disclosed that the Commission handled and resolved over 200 cases of various violations against women.
