Hon. Danladi Baido, knells in deep prayers during a Christian occasion
I bring you calvary greetings in Jesus name in this blessed period of importance in Christendom as Christians begin 40 days of Lent.
As you commence this sober period of prayers, almsgiving and abstinence, I implore you to be strong in faith and not to be distracted in anyway, whatsoever. Be focused on your fasting, religious obligations and uplift your spirit towards the virtues of your belief.
This year’s Lent coincides with a momentous event in the history of our nation with just few days to the general elections.
I urge you to faithfully come out and vote leaders with the fear of God that will give you a clear direction and not those that will lead you astray.
I am not unaware of the challenges we face today as a nation. The currency swap and fuel scarcity among others have brought pains to the citizens. I urge you to be steadfast as these too shall come to pass. I pray God to give us the resilience to overcome.
Coming to Taraba State, I urge you to use this period of fasting to fervently pray that God heals our beautiful land. A land richly blessed but has been underdeveloped due to bad governance, lack of purpose and direction.
On March 11, 2023, the governorship elections would take place across states in Nigeria and I beseech you to put me in your devotions as I contest for the seat of Governor of Taraba State under the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
