Literary colossus, Chukwuemeka Ike, dies at 88

The death has been formally announced of famous Nigerian author, Professor Chukwuemeka Ike.
The first-generation author died Thursday, December 9, 2020, at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, after a brief illness. He was born on April 28, 1931.
He was one-time Registrar, West African Examination Council (WAEC) and head, Nigerian Book Trust Foundation.
He attended Government College, Umuahia, Abia State, the same school attended by literary giants, Prof. Chinua Achebe and Chris Okigbo.
