It was a fanfare of red, gleaming white and colourful Christmas as over 1000 children turned up for the 2018 Christmas and New Year party hosted by the wife of the traditional ruler of Atani in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State, Lolo Odua Nwanyi Adaeze Augustine Ngoddy, at the Central School Field, Atani.
The party was the third edition of the ceremony by the Wife traditional Ruler to light up the season and usher in the Atani children into the grand occasion of the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Year.
The event attracted virtually all the children living in Atani and the neighboring communities, adults, youths as well as the presence of the traditional ruler of Atani, Igwe Augustine Ngoddy.
Addressing the children, the sponsor, Lolo Odua Nwanyi Adaeze Ngoddy expressed her gratitude to God which according to her made everything to be possible and success. She also thanked her husband Igwe Augustine Ngoddy who came to witness the occasion.
She however, described the occasion as an act of developing the community and ushering in progress respectively, urging the children to appreciate whatever gifts item given to them with love and also advised them to adhere to their parents instructions.
Lolo Adaeze Ngoddy revealed that 300 children attended the event as at the first time she started the event, noting that since then the population of children who are attending the event continued multiplying rapidly, adding that she derives joy in seeing children enjoying themselves, just as she explained that her main motive of organizing such event was to integrate the children of Atani community for them to know themselves.
She further advised some affluent in the society to equally embark on such humanitarian acts to their own capacity and urged parents to train their children when they are still tender, reminding parents that whatever they taught their children will definitely reflect on the character of the children when they eventually grow up.
Lolo Adaeze Ngoddy urged the children to respect the their Mothers, Fathers and their elders so that their days may be long and also called on them to face their education because that is the key to life and avoid anything that will distract them from their education.
It was a unique aura, spiced up by memorable renditions by the schools and motherless children home in the community.
The children, seemingly overwhelmed by the charms and colours of different displays, could not have asked for a grander way to anticipate the less-than-four-eight-hours, twenty-eighteen Party.
The ceremony exemplifies the biblical injunction of love for children, an injunction that has remained the beacon of Lolo Ngoddy social relations.
The participating children, obviously elated, applauded the convener of the party, for availing them a memorable way to herald the celebration.
