Nasarawa state Governor, Abdullahi Sule has warned against alleged reprisals attacks over the gruesome murdered of Mohammed Hussein, the State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) and his counterpart in Toto local government area of the state, Mohammed Umar.
Sule handed the warning in a statement signed on Saturday by his chief press secretary, Mr. Ibrahim Addra and made available to our correspondent in Lafia, the state capital on Sunday.
Consequently, the governor stated that the criminal elements that eliminated Hussini’s counterpart in the Toto local government area of the state Mohammed Umar would be arrested and prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others who chosen to be disturbing the general peace of the state.
Sule, while speaking at the funeral prayers for Mohammed Hussein, the State Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association who was killed by yet to be identified persons in Garaku, Kokona Local Government Area of the state, affirmed that his government would not spears anybody criminal elements across the state.
He, however, urged those bent on breaching the peace enjoyed in the state to turn a new leaf for the development of the society.
The governor, however, condoled sympathizers who thronged the residence of the diseased, expressing sadness over the killing, but cautioned against reprisal attacks capable of worsening situations.
He called on the family of the deceased to remain faithful and take solace in God while assuring that his administration will continue to work hard at ensuring adequate security of lives and property in the state.
