Manufacturers, stockists and distributors of herbal products in Nigeria have been told to ensure high standard and quality in the processes of producing the drugs.
Officials of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) made the call while endorsing Millennium Nature’s Path (MILNAPATH) products.
Director of Public Affairs at NAFDAC Headquarters, Abuja who was represented by the Bayelsa State Director of NAFDAC, Mr Ihekire Chucks, called on manufacturers and stockists of locally manufactured herbal products to be focused at their work in order to maintain requires standard.
He also charged them to ensure that due processes are always maintained not only during the production process but during distributions.
He said herbal products manufacturers must give serious care and manufacturing attention if they must meet approval.
They charged Millennium Nature’s Path to maintain their standard or risk sanctions.
“I have followed the progress of Milnapath from the day its office approached us for registration. Let me add that Milnapath satisfied all the conditions for registration of its products which are potent and standard high.
“I encourage distributors and stockists of the company’s product to be focused because I believe strongly that the company will grow and spread beyond the shores of Nigeria,” he stated.
Speaking earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of MILNAPATH, Dr Naomi Ima Bassey described Milnapath as the translation of a vision into reality, and that her desire to contribute to ameliorate the twin problem of ill-health and poverty ravaging humanity informed her decision to go into the production of herbal products.
She said the decision was not arbitrary as she had to enroll to study alternative medicine in Ibadan during which she interacted with experts in alternative medicine, adding that she understood during her research why God gave herbs to humanity.
“Milnapath business plan is the best in the industry so far. I assure our partners that their investment is on a solid foundation that will multiply. I say so because the company has a solid system for sustainability,” she stated.
