A 38 year-old man simply identified as Gabriel Iliya Magaji of Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has reportedly committed suicide over his wife’s alleged infidelity.
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Nasarawa State command, DSP Nansel Ramhan, confirmed the sad incident to journalists via Whatsapp chat in Lafia, the state capital on Thursday morning.
According to him, “On Monday at about 7am a report was lodged by a staff of Crystal School Masaka, in our office in Masaka division, that yet to be identified man was found hanging in one of the classes, in Crystal school Masaka.
“Upon receipt of the complain, the DPO led his men to the scene and untired the corpse and took it to the General Hospital Mararaba, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor, so the corpse was deposited in the morgue.”
DSP Ramhman, however, stated that there wasn’t suicide note found on the deceased, as such the police had already began a thorough investigation that led to the matter with the aim to unravel the remote cause of his untimely death.
On whether the deceased actually committed suicide owing to the fact that his friends were sleeping with his wife as alleged, the PPRO explained that he could not confirm the allegation untill the command completed its investigations.
In the main time, a Facebook post access by our correspondent indicated that the 38 years-old man took his life on Monday after he found out that his friends frequently slept with his wife in exchange for money.
His words, “When he confronted his wife she said, she is doing that because he can’t afford to bring food to the table.
“According to the wife, the friends of his husband often have sex with her and give her money of which she uses the money to buy food items which even the late husband and their 3 Kids eat.”
