Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the Governorship Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Anambra State Governorship election has decried what he described as years of neglect by Prof Chukwuma Soludo led All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He said:“Ndi Njikoka, particularly Enugwu Ukwu, have been overlooked for too long. We are here to change Anambra State for good” Ukachukwu declared to a cheering crowd.
He continued:“The lack of basic infrastructure and economic opportunities here is unacceptable. Our people deserve better, and we are here to change that narrative.”
Ikukuoma as he is fondly calked promised to prioritize transformative infrastructure projects in the entire Njikoka Local Government Area of the State including road rehabilitation, improved electricity supply, and modernized public facilities, to enhance connectivity and quality of life.
He emphasized that these developments would lay the foundation for economic growth in the area, stressing: “We will bring industries to Njikoka that will create sustainable employment for our youth and women”.
Outlining his vision which he said, would attract investors and establish industries that align with the area’s economic potential, he said:“Our people will no longer need to leave Anambra to find opportunities elsewhere. We will bring the opportunities here. Security will top our agenda as we will chase our ‘ndi akuodo’ who have been killing our people instead of securing their lives.”
Senator Uche Ekwunife, the deputy gubernatorial candidate, echoed Ikukuoma’s sentiments, stressing the duo’s commitment to inclusive governance.
“Njikoka is the heart of Anambra State and we will ensure it beats strongly with development and progress,” she said.
Iyom mentioned that all the communities in Njikoka have in the past benefited from her representations, highlighting plans to empower local communities through skill acquisition programmes and support for small-scale businesses, which she described as critical to reducing unemployment.
Supporters in Njikoka expressed optimism on the viability of Ikukuoma/Iyom ticket even as many chanted slogans in support of the candidates, signaling strong grassroots backing.
