A prominent Anambra market leader and Chairman of the Sokoto Road Market in Onitsha Main Market, Hon. Emeka Mbachu, has called on market leaders and residents across Anambra State to rally support for the re-election of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo in the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election.
Speaking to journalists in Onitsha, Mbachu urged traders, civil servants, artisans, youths, and residents to come out in large numbers to vote for Soludo, praising the governor’s first term achievements across the State’s 21 local government areas.
“We are preparing to vote massively for Soludo. What he has done in his first tenure surpasses what some governors achieved in eight years. His record shows he is truly the ‘Solution’ to Anambra’s challenges,” Mbachu stated.
He noted that the traditional title “Oluatuegwu,” meaning a man who does not fear hard work, recently conferred on Soludo, was a fitting recognition of the governor’s dedication and service to the people.
Mbachu particularly commended Soludo for reconstructing the once-deplorable road linking Sokoto Road Market, New Market Road, and Niger Street in Onitsha. He said the road, previously notorious for accidents involving heavy trucks, had claimed several lives before Soludo’s intervention.
“That road was neglected by previous administrations. Professor Soludo fixed it, saving lives and improving access to the market. For that alone, every trader in Onitsha Main Market owes him their support,” he added.
The market leader, who also holds the title Isimmili of Mbaukwu, expressed confidence that Governor Soludo would win re-election comfortably, saying the only question left was the margin of his victory over other contenders.
