The Mbula nation from the Southern Senatorial District of Adamawa State has moved against the marginalization and movement against the proposed Bengo state from the present Adamawa State.

Bengo is derived from Rivers Benue and Gongola from the Southern Zone.

The group under the agies of Mbula Elders Forum (MEF) from Adamawa State rejected the proposed Bengo state describing as a discriminatory plan to exclude the Mbula extraction.

In a press conference in Yola spokesman of the group, Group Captain, Thomas Kwen (rtd), says the proposed state is not a vision of unity but  blueprint for continued exclusion.

He said the National Assembly’s prompt intervention to address these concerns will uphold the principles of justice and inclusion.

The Forum, in thier demands for justice, requested the immediate dismissal of the current Bengo state proposal, urged the House Representatives Committee on the review of Constitution of the Federal Republic 1999 (as amended) to dismissed this proposal in it’s current form, as it disregards historical, culture and political equity for Mbula nation and a comprehensive review led by impartial stakeholders to ensure equitable representation for all ethnic groups in Adamawa state.
