Mercy Corps plans to strengthen lives of residents in north-east

Arrangement has been put in place to strengthen the lives of the people in North Eastern part of the country.
Country director Mercy corps Ndubisi Anyawo made this known Monday when he paid a courtesy call on Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya at Government House, Gombe.
He said the activity will focus on market system where they will facilitate economic recovery and growth in vulnerable and conflict areas by promoting value systematic change through market system.
According to him, the activity that would be carryout in the north east will lift over 90,000 households from poverty.
Anyawo said state to benefit from the project include Adamawa, Borno, Gombe and Yobe states.

In his response, Governor Yahaya said his administration is committed to support the project with any request tendered.
He promised to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Gombe State Government and Mercy Corps for a speedy delivery of the project to the people.
