Middle Belt Coalition Movement berths as former Taraba Governor, Rev. Jolly Nyame ratified as National Leader

A non-partisan body to further champion the cause of the Middle Belt people and its ideology in Nigeria has been formally formed.
Though, the body has taken months to seek acceptance across the broad spectrum of personalities and diverse ethnic nationalities of the entity, official adopted the name Middle Belt Coalition Movement (MBCM) at its maiden general meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
Also, the MBCM formally adopted the composition of the Board of Trustees (BoT) made up of a former Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Danladi Kifasi, Engr. Kube Dwana, Hon. Yamawao Tanko Ishaku, Mrs. Hembadoon Rose Tyav and Mr. Samuel Thlawur as members with an agreement to enlarge membership of the Board to areas where the middle belt ideology is strong at a later date.
Besides, at the meeting, a former Governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame has been officially ratified as the National Leader with Engr. Kube Dwana as National Coordinator and Mr. Vitalis Hwande as National Secretary.
Others are Ramatu Dauda, National Treasurer, Daniel Michael, National Publicity Secretary, Titus Bitrus, National Organizing Secretary with Dr. John Njiling, Dr. Kaspa Abba, Hon. Elkanah Simmon, Samaila Kojack and Tough Yongo as members.
At the meeting chaired by Engr. Dwana, the National Coordinator, the objectives and goals of the organization were formally presented, accepted and adopted through a Motion that was seconded.
The objectives include promoting unity-fostering unity and cooperation among middle belt ethnic nationalities, economic development-advocating for economic development and resource allocation and cultural preservation- Ensuring effective representation in general.
The goals of the organization are: Demand for- improving on infrastructure (Roads, healthcare, education), Resources control- Advocating for greater control of natural resources, youth empowerment and women- Empowering youth and women through education, skill acquisition and entrepreneurship, security and conflict resolution- resolving conflicts and promoting peace.
Engr. Dwana also cleared the air that the new organization will be parrarel to the Middle Belt Forum but complementary.
