Minister of Aviation commissions e-gates, receives Airports recertification

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, has commissioned the newly installed E-gates at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
The project was funded by the UBA Group through a Public-Private Partnership with FAAN, is aimed at enhancing passenger facilitation and strengthening security at the airport.
The Minister was accompanied by the Managing Director of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku.
Similarly, the Minister and the FAAN leadership unveiled newly acquired Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) airport transit buses. The buses, equipped with accessibility features for persons with disabilities, align with the Federal Government’s CNG initiative under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Keyamo said, “I commend the UBA Group for their partnership in advancing the aviation sector and emphasized the administration’s commitment to adopting innovative solutions to improve airport operations.”
Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku said, “FAAN’s dedication to providing world-class facilities and services across Nigeria’s airports.
“These initiatives underscore the Ministry’s and FAAN’s focus on modernizing infrastructure, enhancing passenger experience, and promoting sustainable transportation solutions within the aviation sector,” she said.
During the ceremony, the MD of FAAN, Mrs. Kuku, also presented the Minister with the recertification of both Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
