Minister Tallen urges Nigerians to adopt kids legally

Nigeria’s Women Affairs Minister, Dame Pauline Tallen

The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen of has urged all well meaning Nigerians who are challenge with child bearing to go for adoption through a right process.

The Minister who was speaking at the official Launch of Halal Children Home2 established in Lifecamp area of the Federak Capital Territory on Saturday said the home was established to take care of the vulnerable children by some Muslim sisters association.

She called on well meaning Nigerians who are faced with child bearing challenge to adopt and help to reduce these vulnerability children like the orphans on the street while stating that most of these vulnerable children are the ones constituting nuisance in the society, hence the need to adopt to inculcate family moral in them.

She also said adopting these children in a family will help to heal the country of immoral behavior, insecurity, and they will transformed into future leaders adding that if you adopt a child and make that child your own, all the formalities must be done, and when you adopt that child; bring him or her up as your own child, treat them the way you are to treat your own children.

“This will bring so much blessing to your home, every child is a special gift from God, bringing up a child that is vulnerable or orphan, you are putting smile on the face of God.

“This idea will heal the country, as you have contributed to bring up better children, better values, better morals, better upbringing so that there will be better future leaders,” she stressed.

The wifemof the Governor, Niger Statw, Mrs Amina-Abubakar Bello who decried the rate of the less privilege children in the society as too worrisome said that was what motivated the establishment of Halal children home.

She said Halal children home mission was to take children out of the street, keep them and give them loving home where they can get proper love and training while pointing out that, part of the reason why the country was having so many under privilege people was as a result of unemployment.

She added that there are series of intervention, advocacy and mentoring programme especially for the young girls to encourage and retain them in school.

Also Speaking, a supporter of the initiative, Vice Admiral Jubrila Ayinla (rtd), emphasised more on the education of these children, adding that, this would change their lives adding that the strength of the less privilege is the strength of the society as a whole and the more they are well looked after, the more the society would be stronger.

He commended Halal children home for accommodating the children, and called on well meaning Nigerians to emulate the gesture.

The guest speaker of the event and Chief Iman, CITEC Estate, Mbora, Ustaz-Musa Muhammed also stated that care for the orphans is the most profitable business before God while commending the women for extending their hands of generosity to children, adding that, it is only God that would pay them back.

The president of the association, Mrs Ramatu Abubakar said over 70 children had pass through the home, and tjey have continue to show them love and they also ensure that they have proper education and take care of their need,” Abubakar said.
