Moses Kpakor is now all greys
By Anthony Maliki
One of Nigeria’s greatest footballers, Moses Kpakor has reflected on his youthful years and how playing football was the great passion in Adikpo, in the hinterland of Benue State.
Taking to his Facebook timeline, Kpakor who played mostly for the BCC Lions of Gboko recalled some of the youngsters whom he played alongside. They include his late elder brother Terfa Kpakor and late Amir Angwe both who played for the National team, Emmanuel Ngobua and Geoffrey Shande among others.
Kpakor in the write up titled ‘OH! HOW QUICKLY A GENERATION PASSES!’ wished his father was alive to see his new look.
Here is the details of Kpakor’s deep thoughts:
‘It’s like just a few years ago growing up in the streets of Adikpo-London in Benue State. As little children the greatest events in town were football match days when Adikpo Town Team would display enormous football skills and beat their opponents to the admiration of the whole town. No wonder that most of the children in this town followed football passionately and grew up to display a sort of an uncommon talent and skill. Whether it’s Geoffrey Shande, or Iorlumun Kuhe, or Haako Udele Kajo, or Gbaior Yaasha, or King Jaja, or Emmanuel Ngobua, or Kwaghgba Kpakor, or Ephraim Ngobua, or Terfa Kpakor, or Amir Angwe, or Terfa Apurugh, or Denen Aji and numerous others
Similarly, how we were growing up with our parents and seeing them looking very young and up-doing. How quickly things changed in no time and for some of us, we lost our parents and to others, even though their parents are old and still alive, they are looking like grand parents, anyway. It’s just like a few years ago! In all of this story, my main message here is to say that in life, there comes a time when a child would grow to look like his father. Today, I have taken a new face in personality to the dissatisfaction of numerous elders, age-mates and friends etc. However, I remain motivated to keep my new look no matter what. Because of the sole fact that there has now come that time in life when I am looking exactly like my late father – My only regret remains that I have missed those remarks he could have made seeing I looked exactly like him. What’s your impression looking like your father or mother?’
