Motorcyclist dies in lone accident in Anambra

A motorcyclist in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State has died in alone accident.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that the cyclist died in a crash that occurred around 1pm on Tuesday involving a black colour Carter Motorcycle with registration number 827NNE.
It happened opposite Ihiala Local Government Area Secretariat, on the Ihiala-Owerri Expressway.
According to the eyewitness, the cyclist a middle aged man, who’s identity was yet to be determined as of press time lost control of the bike, due to lack of concentration, resulting to the unfortunate crash which claimed his life.
The Anambra State Sector Public Education Officer, Mr. Pascal Anigbo, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He said, “The corpse of the young man, who was the only victim in the crash has been deposited at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Mortuary, Ihiala by the FRSC rescue team from Ihiala Unit Command.
“The team also handed over the motorcycle to the Police, for further investigation.
“The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, Mr.  Andrew Kumapayi strongly warns motorcycle riders against plying the expressways, as it is a violation of road traffic rules and regulations.
“He also reiterates the importance of wearing crash helmet when riding on a bike, to prevent head injuries during a crash. He sends his condolences to the family of the dead”.
