Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry engages Cross River holidaymakers acquire free skills in various trades

By Akpan David, Calabar

Over 1,000 teenagers, mostly holidaymakers, in Calabar and surrounding suburbs are currently acquiring different  free skills as the school holiday season ensues.

The skills training is organised by the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry (MFM) in Calabar.

Pastor Bankole Joseph, the Regional Overseer, MFM Schools in Cross River said it is to mark their annual Skills Acquisition and Digital Improvement Programme.

He said the programme started in 2015 and that the ages of the beneficiaries range from 15 to 30 drawn from  various tertiary institutions and secondary schools across the state.

Bankole disclosed that the training will cover various trades.

He said success in life is not by chance but by choice and someone with additional skill to his  academic qualifications stands a better chance to succeed than the person who is solely dependent on certificate acquired from school.

“When you have skills you are more confident in your ability and chances to succeed.  when you are self employed you can network with others because you are a solution to the needs and problems of others and not a burden”, he said.

Speaking further, he said Nigeria is in need of people with skills that can  add value to the society and  create wealth for  the nation.

Pastor Bakole said reputable trainers have been engaged to offer them adequate training during the period.
