Mrs. Obiano urges women to be role models, laments negative use of social media

Women have been advised to uphold God’s power and wisdom to succeed in life.
The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano who gave the advice at Saint Margret Parish, Ndikelionwu in Orumba North Local Government Area during a thanksgiving service to mark the end of the fourteenth Aguata Diocesan Women’s Conference, also, charged women to always aspire to be role models.
The Governor’s wife represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special duties, Mrs. Amaka Ezeike, regretted the negative use of social media by the youths and called on parents to always monitor the conduct of their children at all times.
She called on the church to continue with its prayer for those in authority to enable them deliver on their mandate.
Also speaking the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on
Secondary School Mobilization, Lady Chinyere Mbakwe, commended Governor Willie Obiano for his strides in the Education Sector, making reading materials and conducive environment available for students and prompt payment of teachers’ salaries his main objectives.
Earlier in a sermon, the Anglican Bishop of Agutata Diocese, Right
Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, who said that the power to subdue the devil is in Jesus Christ, cautioned Christians against fearing death, which he described as a price all mortals must pay and warn Christians against the amalgamation of their faith with idol worship, maintaining that salvation only comes from God.
In an interview, the President of the Aguata Diocesan Women’s
Ministry, Mrs. Chinyere Ezeofor called for proper legislation that will continue to improve the living standards of women and children and commended the Anambra State House of Assembly for passing a bill minimizing the high cost of burial rites in the state.
The wife of the Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Mrs. Uche Amah advised the womenfolk to put into practice the teachings learned from the
Conference at their various homes, places of work and families.
The Chairlady Conference Planning Committee Lady Ngozi Ike and a
nominee to the conference Mrs. Kate Nwankwo also spoke at the event.
The service was attended by the Chancellor of Aguata Diocese Justice Peter Obiorah, traditional ruler of Ndikelionwu, Eze Professor
Chukwuemeka Ike and his wife Adebinkpe, wife of the former Dean Church of Nigeria Mrs Blessing Anikwenwa among others.
The service featured cutting of the conference cake and dedication of women executives by the Bishop.
