My administration won’t accept impostor as Guung Zaar – Bauchi Governor Mohammed warns

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed has reiterated the commitment of his administration to the realization of the creation of the much desired Sayawa Chiefdom for the Zaar nation. 

The Governor however warned that his administration, after creating the Chiefdom, will not accept an impostor as Guung Zaar anytime the Chiefdom takes off. 

The Governor further assured that, definitely, the long sought after Chiefdom will soon be realised as it will come before the end of his administration having almost completed the processes for its creation. 

He was speaking when he received in audience, the leadership of Bauchi State chapter of the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), on a Christmas rally and homage hosted at the Government House on Monday. 

According to him, “I have really made the Sayawa my bosses because there is nothing I can say to them, they have showed me so much love though some of their leaders tried to separate that love but the majority of them said no, not in the Sayawa nation.”

Mohammed said that, “As your son and servant, I assure you that your Chiefdom will be realized under my leadership. And you will determine who becomes your leader, we will not allow any impostor, anybody you want, will be your leader.” 

According to him, “In Northern Nigeria, we have a law, the local council, the religious leaders, the community leaders and the government of the state must have a say on who becomes the Emir, District Head or a chief and the Sayawa Chiefdom will not be an exemption.” 

The Governor stressed that,”We will do it in such a manner that there will be authority, there will be respect and there will be succession and ascension either by ascription or achievement, we will do it in the universal way as we don’t have any qualms with anybody.

“May God forgive me if anybody feels that I don’t like him, I like everybody because I never knew that I will become a Senator, a Director, a Minister, now a Governor. That is why I don’t underrate anybody,” he said. 

He further stressed that, “And I cannot stop anybody from achieving his aspirations in life because, as has been said, power comes from God and He will give it to anybody He wishes, He has given me.”

The Governor added that, “I am pleading, that please, respect the decision of the people who have given me this leadership, not just absolute power, I will not misuse it, it is time to come together, to work together to build a new Bauchi State, we are lagging behind, everybody comes here, he is happy with the Government House.” 

According to him, “I must appreciate it that since I came on board, there has been peace and tranquility everywhere. We have not heard of any sectarian or religious crisis, this is because we have respect for each other, both Christians and Muslims. My family is a mixture of the two religions.”

He appreciated the Christian community for the love, appreciation and gratitude they have always shown him since he joined politics and won the seat of the Senator for the Bauchi South Senatorial District.

He called on the Christian community to continue praying for peace and tranquility of Bauchi state and Nigeria and even for the success of his administration. 

He applauded their element of fear of God which he said has been manifesting in projects and programmes and ensuring there is justice and equity in the way people are treated. 

The reiterated the commitment of his administration in collaborating with religious leaders to enhance the welfare of the citizens, saying he will continue to ensure the resources are distributed with justice and equity.

On urban renewal, Mohammed said his administration has initiated programmes aimed at bringing harmony, enhancing synergy as well as bringing people together. 

He however warned that his administration will not condone nor tolerate any act of sabotage from troublemakers who threaten the security of lives and properties of citizens, calling on traditional and religious rulers to educate followers on the importance of upholding democratic principles and sovereignty of Nigeria. 

The Governor also said that the new Christian cemetery in Bauchi will be completed soon and his administration has almost concluded the process of acquiring the place for use stressing that the dead must be accorded respect. 

The Governor explained that his decision to embark on roads and other infrastructure development in Christian communities is to meet the development challenges facing them, pledging to continue to run an inclusive government for the rapid socio-economic development of the state.

Earlier, the Christian community through the Leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said that they were pleased with the leadership qualities and sterling performance of the the administration.

The Chairman of CAN in the State, Rev Dr Abraham Damina Dimeus stated that the Christian stakeholders decided to honor the Governor in recognition of his posture of love to all irrespective of religious backgrounds. 

Abraham Damina said that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has ensured integration and stakeholders in governance by appointing Christian sons and daughters, as well as awarding key contracts for major Christian communities.

He then pledged the necessary loyalty and support to the current administration and urged Christians to continue praying for the success of the Governor.
